In light of his untimely death today, I’ve decided to explore the most fantastic of Heston phenomenon; the Heston ending. So what is a Heston ending? Usually it involves a lot of screaming. In the best of them, like Soylent Green and POTA, there’s a stunning revelation that you may or may not have figured out in the first 15 minutes of the movie. But sometimes they’re just shocking and violent like in planet of the apes two when he blows up the Earth just because Dr.Zaius pissed him off. Oh what a Heston ending that was. Or in Omega man when he dies during a big gunfight but still manages to save the day. But always the Heston ending is unprecedented and amazing. They haven’t yet released details of his death, the ultimate Heston ending. I’m sure it was good, the man was inspired.
My favorite actor, and noted gun nut, Charlton Heston died today. The world wont be the same without him. What will we do without that crazy scream, that crazy laugh, and his amazing obvious-mystery-solving, survival, and combat abilities? The man was a roaring talent and now he’s gone. We will miss you Charlton, everyone eat some people or curse out an ape for him today.
