A Good Leader

September 1st, 2009. By Andrew

A good leader, or perhaps I should say a real leader, gets people to follow him or her. A good leader doesn’t pander to the other side, they convince the other side’s voting base to switch sides. Thus, a good leader is not necessarily a centrist. A good leader can use their powers of persuasion to convince people that their idea’s are the best ideas. A good leader listens, but they don’t pander. They elevate people, they change minds, and they gets things done not by force or coercion, but by getting people to follow them willingly.

Bush commands, he doesn’t lead.

Hillary panders.

Barack leads.

Can you love people and lead them
without imposing your will?

leading and not trying to control:
this is the supreme virtue.

If you want to govern the people,
you must place yourself below them.
If you want to lead the people,
you must learn how to follow them.

By not dominating, the Master leads.
